Vanguard
Welcome to the Vanguard Group!
The goal of the Vanguard committee is to engage younger physicians, surgeons and scientists who have an interest in liver transplantation and to encourage their involvement in ILTS. The purpose is to develop scientific and educational initiatives to prepare the next generation for leadership roles in ILTS. Members of the Vanguard are ages 42 and younger.
The committee is comprised of three subcommittees:
Program - The Vanguard group has a prominent role in the Congress, planning the debate sessions and grand round talks and a social event.
Awards - This group is responsible for selecting two Vanguard Award recipients for highest rated abstracts to be presented at the Congress. Click Here to Read more.
Website - This group works closely with the ILTS Website committee to develop areas of interest for younger physicians and surgeons. These include scholarship links, facebook presence, discussions and new training opportunities. There is also a section on the clinical area of the website especially for Vanguard members. http://www.ilts.org/education/
The ILTS Travel Award Scholarship is a wonderful opportunity for younger members to apply for funding to train in another institution. The ILTS Travel Scholarship Awards are now closed. The scholarship will reopen in November 2012.
