• Identify the gaps in knowledge for maximizing both short term and long term allograft survival.
• Recognize disease recurrence and immuno-regulation.

Session Description:

The organ shortage has prompted tremendous investigations, particularly in the last decade, to improve allograft availability and function. The focus, in this era of transplantation, cannot only rely on short term allograft function, but rather long term allograft outcomes. This course will help attendees identify and treat liver disease after transplantation to maximize allograft function; understand and implement new perfusion strategies to preserve allograft function; and continually measure quality of care in terms of transplant outcomes.
