Overview

Learning objectives:

1) Learn about transplant physicians' perspective for the clinical utility and the implementation of a testing strategy that could guide therapeutic decision making. 2) Learn about currently used and novel assays and biomarkers that reliably predict the risk of liver allograft injury and can overcome the drawbacks of late detection of rejection and injury and empirical immunosuppression dosing. 3) Learn about current bottlenecks to clinical biomarker implementation in liver transplantation and suggest strategies for biomarker guided transplant care. 4) Learn how better synergy between scientists, academic institutions, and commercial entities will be needed to commercialize biomarkers using a "bench-to-bedside approach".   Valeria R.
