Overview

Learning objectives:

Donation after circulatory determination of death is a complex process shaped not only by national mores and regulatory frameworks but also disparate donor profiles and waiting list demands. For these reasons, it may be difficult at both academic and practical levels to share and compare DCD experiences and knowledge among countries. This session aims to break down barriers by providing nuanced views of DCD from different national and regional perspectives (focusing on donor profiles, withdrawal process, application of advanced preservation techniques, and recipient profiles and needs) and engaging in discussion aimed at establishing a common path forward.
